Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) boxes...and i dont mean cardboard

Im considering an EZ box for my 02. My question is do I have to buy a box for an 02or will one from say an 01 or 00 work on my truck ??? Thanks for your help hope this isnt a stupid question.

I tried putting my 01 box on an 02 for someone to try it and it wouldn't fit. The map plug was different but I have heard since that you can buy an adapter plug from edge to make it work. I would give Edge a call to verify though.
