Buffalo????

I will be in the area around the middle of Feb and would like some info on snowmobile rentals and places to ride.

Thanks.

If you have the time don't miss snowmobileing in Yellowstone NP just down the road from Bozeman. There are outfitters at both the north and west entrances that will set you up.

Update:

Well, it looks like we will be riding in the park on the 12th-14th and skiing at Big Sky on the 11th.

We will ride at Big Sky on the 10th. If anyone can recommend some riding areas to go to that would be fun, we would like to rent some real mountain sleds and try riding on real hills. Are there any volunteers to show some midwestern riders how and where to ride hills? Any recommendations on where to (or not to) rent sleds?

Extreme,

If you're going to ski Big Sky, then take the extra hour to drive to West Yellowstone to ride sleds. We just got back today from a week long trip out there. It hasn't snowed for a while, but there's about 4 feet in town. :) There's a LOT more snow in West than Big Sky. It's not even a comparison. We rode just west of Big Sky on our way out and there wasn't much for snow there. West will also have way more options as to renting. I've been going out there for 5 years, my dad for 10. From what I've seen and done it'd be worth the extra little drive to go to West Yellowstone. More trails and easier hills to find. Check out Lions Head and Two Top. They'll probably have a lot of tracks on em, but it should still be fun. We go with guys that hunt out there in the summer, so they know almost everywhere to go. It was really fun this year, we found tons of powder, only problem was the fog the last few days.

If you have to ride Big Sky then I can't really recommend anything. I think you're options will be pretty limited as to where to ride and who to rent from.
