Gen 3 into Chevy suggestings

Need to know the wheelbase of Dodge crew cab long box

I have a "V10" Chevy Suburban that I am going to transplant a 24V CTD into, I plan on modifying the engine and drive train in time for some performance but I am worried about the 1/2 ton frame with the added torque and horsepower of that engine. Has anyone that has done this conversion braced their frame or boxed it or anything like that? I am needing to tell my shop guys where to brace it at and i'm unsure where to start...

any help would be great, thank ya'll

I never heard of a " V-10 " chevy im certain they dont make one

There is a back issue of 4 wheeler magazine that has a article on a Burb with a 6bt cummins .

I dont think you will brake the frame just run it , there is also pics on Auto Worlds web site plus a few others on TDR that has done the newer GM pus

I agree with DV... . I've seen the cummins put in lesser frames and survive. ;)

I think the V10 refers to a half ton 4x4. The 2wd would be a R10. The C/K designation went to the new body style, and the crew cabs and suburbans got new R and V names.

in 87 Gm made the last C/K straight axles in 88 they have R/V series stright axle .

So my CC is a V3500 ,Burbs V10 ,V20 .

No need to box the frame ,the frme will just fine.

V10 refers to the make and wheel drive of the suburban for that year. .

a V10 suburban is a 4wd 1/2 ton suburban

a v20 suburban is a 4wd 3/4 ton suburban

a r10 suburban is a 2wd 1/2 ton suburban

a r20 suburban is a 2wd 3/4 ton suburban

not even under the engine in the front or nething like that? seems like if i BOMB that engine/transmission and get her stuck in the mud somewhere, i'm bound to put too much torque on the frame...

My Dakota im estimating at 350 hp and right around 700 ft lbs of tq. and with 38" tires I have checked the frame a few times looking for problems and I have found nothing. i dont take it in the woods but I pound it pretty hard on the street.
