Brake and ABS light on when full throtle

Anyone Have any ideas? Ever had a problem like this? When I go full throttle from a standstill my brake light and the ABS light will come on. I checked the brake fluid already and it's full. It stays on until I turn of the vehicle and then doesn't come back on until I do the same manuever. It doesn't come on when I'm stopping just on HEAVY acceleration.



I was thinking that maybe it had to do with the hydroboost setup because I think that my steering pump may be going out for the second time.

the ABS system could possibly be sensing tire slippage if you are burning out with the brake still applied. try letting off the brake completely before you hammer it.



some of the ABS systems will light if they sense slippage just to warn you. i know Fords do that. they are to disable under 5-7MPH but like i said, if the front tire is stationary and the rear suddenly takes off, with the brake still applied it may think there is trouble. and is lighting to WARN you.

I'll agree with Todd on that one, mine will occasionally do that when I do a burnout while holding the brakes. Just another glitch in our lovely POS anti-lock brakes. Mine also gives me the Vehicle Speed Sensor error code when that happens. Just one of those things. As soon as I cycle the key it's gone, so I don't worry about it. Heavy acceleration my foot! Right foot that is :-laf.

Not the problem

Good advice. But I don't have the brakes on at all when it happens. Usually it happens when I push it hard on an onramp. The tires aren't slipping and I don't have the brakes applied.



Question: What if the rear brakes are adjusted a little high? I did just have the EGR Severe Brake front and back installed. The back was just shoes and 3500 wheel cylinders though.
