Hi,

My brake and abs light come on while I a driving, it might come on after twenty or more miles of driving or it might come on soon after I start.

The dealer says that is the brake modual and that it will cost $600. 00

to replace. I just don't buy what tha dealer is saying.

I have a 1999 Rasm4x4

Any help on this would be appreciated.

Thank You, Eddie

Rear wheel speed sensor in the top of the rear dif may be all that's wrong. A 13mm socket would allow you to remove the bolt then rock it out of the housing. If the end of it is missing or looks like a magnet then something is going on inside the rear end that needs repair and destroyed the sensor. You could measure the resistance with a DMM, 0 to less than 1. 2 ohms is ideal (new sensor values). If no continutity or high resistance you might have found your problem.

Your dealer may also be correct as you didn't say what diagnosis was performed to determine the module replacement.

You might ck. the aftermarket for reman module etc.

Good luck

Andy
