I wanted to stop and pick up a piece of tubing so I can bleed my brakes when I do a brake job (hopefully) this weekend.

What size tubing do I need to connect to the bleeder valve so that I can run the line into a proper container?

We use a clear vinyl hose from one of the big box stores... . 3/16 or 1/4" id and press it over the end of the valve and run it into a clean container... . when the air stops and the fluid is clear we stop bleeding... . do the longest line first...

Buy 12-16" of the hose and throw it away when your done... the chemicals in the brake fluid will make the hose hard and brittle...

Thank you both for the reply. I have done some searches and you are definitely excellent resources! I havent' heard of SpeedBleeders - so I'm not sure what they are!

I purchased a vacuum pump that you can use to bleed brakes at the wheel without having to pump the pedal. Any experience with these - or should I take it back?

Also, I don't have a service manual yet so any detailed instructions on removing the calipers, pads and rotors would be appreciated. Torque settings for related hardware would also be appreciated (on each nut and bolt that I need to touch! :) ) I plan to add some grease to the bearings as per one of Jelag's posts that I read.
