Local parts store wants ~35 dollars a piece for front OEM rotors. Currently have some top quality (not sure which) drilled and slotted rotors supposed to resist warping - try harder guys, they warped! To buy another set of drilled and slotted rotors would cost ~200 bucks whereas OEM rotors would be 60. Anyone have a recomendation on what to put on? Why invest the $$$ in aftermarket if theyre going to warp also? As a side note, truck is not raced, no heavy loads, and certainly no hard braking unless some jerk pulls out in front of the truck. Exhaust brake is primarily used to slow truck down so brake heat and force is minimum. I have heard stock brakes tear up in these trucks... true or false?

My experiment with NAPA's premium drilled and slotted rotors brought me to the same conclusion: don't work! Warped in no time. Returned to their premium stock ones and they seem to work great!

True until they went to the 4 wheel disk brakes in the 01. 5's. My 95 12V would eat pads in 15K miles. My 01. 5 has held up for 40K.

I wouldn't say that these trucks eat pads - my stock brake pads have lasted for nearly 98,000 miles. It's time for a change now though.
