Battery isolator or solenoid?

Front hub disconnect

Please excuse my stupidity on this, I have been up way too many hours and "Murphy" has been in rare form for this whole week. I am installing the Brakesmart controller. It says to connect it to the Blue connector under the dash. My question is, where does the "7 pin" connector the dealer handed me connect to? Does it go in the rear of the truck where the 4 pin is now or does it go in the blue connector under the dash??? If it goes in the blue connector then where the hech do I plug in the Brakesmart connector? I may be able to figure this out in the morning but I am pressed for time and need to get the truck ready ASAP in the morning to go get my new trailer. Thanks to any who can lend me their brain cells since my are falling asleep.

If your rig was ordered with the "camper/tow" package, then you should already have the 7 pin connnector in the back of the truck. You just need to wire in the brake controller into the wire bundle under the dash. If it wasn't ordered that way... you have to wire your rig for a 7 pin setup... Good luck. ;)

RJOL thanks, Mine has the tow package but tommygun gave me this 7 pin connector. It looks like the ones under the dash and has wires about a foot long hanging out of it? My truck has the 7 pin connector in the back with a 4 pin hanging unconnected. I assume that what is connected to the rear plug is the 7 pin. Just can't figure out what the connector he gave me is for.

BTW anyone with the Brakesmart controller know if the connector that comes with the Dodge kit will directly attach to the "blue" connector? Kind of asking my original question in a different way I guess.

You do not need to use the brake controller pigtail that came with the truck with the BrakeSmart becasue the BrakeSmart cable already has the Dodge connector on it.

I have an '01 Ram CTD, and an '02 Dakota, both w/factory towing pkg. Both "blue" connectors are forward of, and above, the parking brake pedal, on the firewall bulkhead. You might already know this, but if you didn't, just trying to help. Luck,
Dave

Klenger, I found the answer in one of your earlier posts but my dang ISP hosed me again before I could say thanks to everyone and say I found the answer. I have the the Pullrite and Brakesmart thanks to your great install guides!!! I am currenlty trying to find a nice way to cover the holes in the bed when not using the hitch. I may form some out of outdoor electrical "round" box covers. Maybe have 2 small screws to hold them in place and paint them black to match the Line-x. Still considering other options.
