When to turn off overdrive?

Who makes the good and who makes the crappy 5er's?

Where did you mount your brake controller?? Mine is the typical under the dash installation and I find it to be a PITA to opreate it. I am thinking lose the cup catapult and put the controller there... . anyone do that install on theirs??

The Tekonsha Sentinal fits the ashtray opening with the help of a piece of sheet metal with a single fold.

I have a Tekonsha Envoy - mounted it in the ashtray opening. It just fits in there, and it's very convenient to see and adjust.

I looked and looked, thought and thought, test fit over and over. Could not stand the thought of drilling a hole anywhere so I got a spare ashtray and mounted directly to it. If I ever regret it, I can still pop in my original unmolested ashtray.

I just mounted my Prodigy horizontally in my ashtray with only about 1 1/2" sticking out. Ashtray can slide out and unit disconnected if needed. Looks good, even if I say so myself! If I could figure out how to post a digital picture, I would.

Mounted it right to the ash tray like Roy Crown. Kept it low, bottom or controler just about even with bottom of ash tray. I then mounted my Gear Vendors controler on top of the brake controler. Stacked. I do not worry about holes. The trucks are not worth much with high miles except who ever gets my used ones get well maintained high milers.

Note: I have never been that cheap as to remove a $75 controler and reuse it in a new truck. They are always well used and obsolite by that time any how.

I'm so cheep I thought about draining the oil from my '98 to put in my 01. 5. It still had 2,463 miles left on it. :D

My Hayes brake controller is in it's 4th truck. That's $325 worth of beer funds. It's mounted under the dash on the left side right by the brake release. It's out the way and handy to reach down to with my left paw. I used two holes with screws that were already there holding the dash bazel on. Why buy two brand new screws when there are already two there?:p

My VDO gauges are on their third truck minus the pyro sensor. Thy're mounted under the dash on the right side of the steering wheel using dash screws right next to the air bag controller if that's what it is down there.

Directly in front of my right knee.

Slightly harder to see than by the ashtray, but less apt to get bumped/kicked by wee little ones...

I'll see if this picture of my prodigy controller comes through. I like how easy it is to reach, see and use.

Thomas,

What are you running of that 2-speed switch. Also, how did you mount it to your stick. I would like to control my e-brake off a switch on my stick.

The two-speed axle switch controls the E-brake by Jacobs and the small red button controls the Grover air horns:D The bracket on the two-speed switch was purchased from a local supply house with an Eaton part number. The bracket had to be reworked. The bracket on the horn button is homemade, and has lost some of its paint due to a nervous trigger finger.
