brake controller wiring question

I had a Tekonsha brake controller installed, and I was noticing that, next to the e-brake release handle, there's a plug in connector ... was th brake controller supposed to be connected there?? thanks in advance... also, can the brake controller be removed when not in use?

If you have the factory Dodge towing Package, then that connector (above the Ebrake release) is where the brake controller could have plugged in. all the factory Dodge towing packages came with a wire harness and the correct connector in the glove box. (I had to go back to the dealer to get mine, they had remove it from the glove box)
