Tommy-

There is not a rear disc conversion for the 3/4 or 1 ton trucks. Rear discs will be available on the 2001's. With luck, the parts will interchange or be easily modified to work on our older trucks. Don't hold you breath though.

BTW, will you be going to the Texas Rally in Temple? Details are available in the Local Events Forum.

I think stainless steel brakes has a conversion, its not shown on their website but I'm sure I remember seeing a new kit for Dodge trucks in an issue of Fourwheeler, give them a call and see. http://www.stainlesssteelbrakes.com/

Jacobs E brake, lighted running boards, toolbox, solor visor, mag hytec cover, rhino lined, diamond tread rail protectors, mud flaps with genos chrome plates, megs exhaust tip, SPA digital pillar mounted pyro, boost, fuel press & oil temp gauges, rerouted blowby bottle, torklift class 5 double tube extension hitch and frame mount camper anchors... Its not a hobby anymore, its an addiction!

I spoke to SSB a few months back and was told they had no plans to offer a kit for the 3/4 or 1 tons. They said they would develop a kit but it would take at least 50 confirmed orders and cost around 1200. 00. When I posted this information, response was minimal at best.

They do have a 1500 kit.

I don't know if or how well it would work on the Dana 80, but I was able to convert the 14 bolt on my Blazer to disks using front brake parts. I used rotors and caliper brackets from a late 70's 3/4 ton Chevy 4x4, and calipers from the rear of a 77 Eldorado. The Chevy calipers can also be used, but then you don't have an e-brake.

I had to do a little work to the caliper brackets fit, but it was nothing too difficult. I also installed an adjustable proportioning valve in place of the stock one. The brakes now work great, even on steep slopes or ledges with 40" tires. Best of all, the total cost was under $150 (using mainly junkyard parts, I later rebuilt the calipers).

Feel free to email me if you have any questions, I'd also like to know if this works on the 80.

Thanks for the information. I think I'll try the 2001! E-Brake soon to be installed.

It seems that our Hybrid Dana 80 uses parts from the Dana 70 spindle outward and I think that someone makes a kit for the Dana 70 that would convert. Correct me if I'm wrong.
