Has anyone looked into converting to 3rd gen hydraboost brakes? I drove a friend of mines '05 2500 and the brakes are unbelievable compared to mine, if anyone has any info, please let me know... . thanks
I have a 1995 Dodge Diesel and the brakes are not as good as my 2004. What a difference. To make the brakes as good I would love to. But what Involved In doing this Is be on me. There a lot of difference In the way the 2004 drives conpaired to the 95. I am still keeping my 95.
this is something i just did this past summer but there is alot involved
the o4 brakes and rotors bolt right up the the 00 up i (think) might be 99up front dana 60 axles i swaped a 02 axle without the cad into my truck and put 04 calipers and brackets with 04 roters you will need to change your front flex lines cause the newer prakes have hard leader lines at the end of the flex line where it goes to the caliper i also put a 2002 dana 80 rear axle in to get the factory disc brakes in the rear i had EGR rear disc brakes and really did not like them
i also put the hydroboost and master clylinder form a 2002 in now my brakes feel just like my dads 04 (now i just have to figure out how to get the steering like his
also while this takes a lot of work to do all this i know my friends 98 which had the same brakes my truck used to have felt alot better since he has the hydro boost which is what i was qorinally goign to do but them i decided i wanted a new axle
to put the hydro boost in with your power steering pump you just have to get all new high pressure lines from pupm to hydroboost and hydroboost to steering box the steering box return stays the same and then get the hydroboost return line and just T in into the steering box return line
if you want to do just the hydroboost i have one from a 99 from when i was going to just to the hydroboost that i would sell
