I seem to be accumulating a lot of brake dust on my front wheels, and none on the back. I have 4 wheel disc brakes. My old truck (93 cummins) never made a spec of brake dust up front... yet this one is making quite a bit.

What's up with that? Can anything be done? Or do I just have to wait and get a different type of brake pad?

different pads will create more/less dust than others...

even though you have 4 wheel disks, when empty, the fronts are still doing 90% of the braking.

Didn't have much dust with my 01. 5, a lot more with my 02... . go figure.

I'm with Forrest, different pads. When it's time to renew I will look for some that stop good but don't produce much dust.

Not sure if we have the same type of pad or not... my produce a brick red colored dust.

Try kleen wheels from Geno's , Mine do a great job and for $37. 00 it beat's the gray haze you get on your wheel's between washing's and there vented to help keep the brake's cool. Don

On my '00 the Advance Auto pads made Huge amount of dust; A TDR guy Suggested using OEM PAds. Went back to MOPAR pads, And the dust is way down. Moose00

Put new Carbon Metallic pads, from AutoZone, to see if I could get the sqealling to stop when I applied the brakes at a stop. Didn't fix the squeal but most of the pad dust problems on the rim stopped. Oh well... one out of two isn't bad (at least in baseball)... :D

Very cool... thanks everyone!

Fishin': I just didn't want to get something that would stand out and look funny, that's all! :D
