OK here goes I have made it to the rotor on the front wheels. I have taken out the bolts that hold the caliper to the caliper mounting bracket and I have taken out the bolts that hold the caliper bracket to the steering knuckle. I have wired up the caliper out of the way. Im assuming at this point that the rotors just pull off. No way. There are as stiff as can be. Am I missing something here?Does the axel nut have to come off?Should I be spraying anti seize on the hubs?Help!

the first time you change the rotor they are real stiff to take off, all you have to do is take a rubber mallet and hit it evenly around it from the inside toward the outside and it should come loose. If you don't have a rubber mallet put a piece of wood against the rotor and hit the wood.
 
Mine is a 3rd Gen and 2wd but mine had some little washers that were on 1 or 2 of the lug nut studs that had to be removed. Look like a VERY THIN washer. Took a flat screwdriver and a hammer and tapped them off. Hope it works out for you.

Thanks for the response's everyone. No need to take off the axel nut on the front axel. You do have to take off the axel nut on the rear wheels if it is a dually. I ended up spraying PB Blaster on the hub,tapping the front of the hub with a hammer lightly and then using a piece of wood and a hammer to beat the hub from the backside. Worked great.
After taking the hubs off I have the right side hub and inside pad showing metal to metal. Both inside pads show more wear then the outside pads. Is this a result of poor lube on the slider pins or could it be time to replace the calipers. I have about 134,000 miles on the front calipers.

I've had that on different trucks. It could be the slider pins or it could be a pad hanging up on the caliper. On my minivan I found that rust scale was shrinking the slot (on the caliper) that the pad moves in. It looked fine but a small chisel took off a lot of scale.
 
Hi all,can anyone tell me what parts should get anti seize and what should have loctite put on them and what grade loctite,red or blue. Parts hopefully come in today and I want to get my baby up and running. I see where some put loctite on the caliper mount bolts. I was wondering if the caliper slide bolts need loctite. I am putting grease on the slide bolts. Im going to put anti seize behind the rotor when I put that on. Do the nuts that hold the rotor on get loctite
