Since its a little slow for new posts, thought I'd post this for general comments and information.
If your cruise control won't work and/or your brake lights stay on, it is probably the brakelight switch out of position. Thought it was a bad switch on my '93 and replaced only to find out it was a position problem. Has anyone else had this problem and is there any good way to keep the switch in position?

Yo, I had the same trouble early on and had the brake switch adjsuted several times under warranty. I still have an occasional lack of engagement when the "set" button is pushked. The cure that works for me is to hold the throttle steady and stab a quick jab on the clutch pedal. Nearly always this will clean it up. A worse problem however is that on occasion the cruise control will "surge", speeding up and slowing down even on a smoosth road. Carson Dodge tried to repair this last year at the May Madness but it still happens. It is maddening because it is intermittent.
Good luck!

Try a Chrysler/Dodge dealer and have them check for a bulletin for this, my '93 did this and it was caused by servo and cable mismatch from the factory. Hope this helps.

Bigharv,
I had the same problem with the surging and it was the switch that was causing that as well. If the switch is close to breaking contact and the road is rough, it seems the cruise control keeps kicking off and on thus the surging. It also will cause acceleration when trying to set and turn on the control.
The switch just presses into a bracket above the brake pedal arm and has small plastic fingers to hold it in place. These need to be a little stronger to hold in position. Hope this helps.

Once upon a time,... my cruise control did the surgin' thing. Make sure that your speedometer sensor is screwed on the trans tightly. If you can move it with your fingers, it needs tighteded. I put a little loctite on mine, no trouble since. Hope this helps.
