The brake lights don't work on my truck. Just noticed it about an hour ago. I just bought a new utility trailer and was testing the lights on the trailer. I had my 10 yr old son pushing the brake pedal and no lights... . figured he wasn't doing something right:p . It's not burnt out lights cause the trailer lights don't even come on nor does the light on my electric bake box in the cab.

Any ideas? Could it be a fuse and if so what fuse would it be? Any help I can get would be appreciated. I plan to do some hauling to the deer lease in the morn but if I have no brake lights I can't go.

Thanks guys!!!

fuse block

Check the owners manual for the location of the fuse. I believe they are labeled there and possibly on the cover of the fuse access panel. Brake lights should be a 15 or 20 amp spade fuse.

Under the hood of the truck there is a fues panel on the drive's side fender it is one of those fueses. Mine did the same thing when I hooked my brake controler up wrong. I can't remember witch one it is but its one of thoes little box looking fueses. I think it's green. The top of the fues panel has on the under side of it a diagram that will tell you witch one to change.

Hope I helped

Wayne, the stop light fuse is in the Power Distrribution Center under the hood(just in front of the master cylinder on th drivers side. It id the 5th fuse down from the top on the left side, 20 amp and a funny liooking little fella, probably hard to locate a new one, maybe Autozone or that new place on Nederland ave just before you get to O'Reileys on the left. If it is not the fuse then the next suspect culprit would be the trailer tow relay, it is also in the PDC. Save a couple deer for me. bg

Thanks guys. Found the fuse and changed it. Brake lights working again. The culprit is the trailer wiring. When I hook up the trailer and turn on blinkers wierd things happen... . like bothe trailer lights blinking and my center stop light blinking. It's just a guess, but I would say the trailer wiring is hooked up wrong:( . Now I've got to figure out what is cross connected on the trailer.

Thanks again!! wm
