I have had my 94 sitting in the shop doing some work. I now have it running and been driving it, but notice the brake lights stick on once in a while. I sprayed some penetrating oil up on the brake light switch, but still sticks. If you push on the brake pedal a couple of times, the brake lights will go off. Is my switch gettting bad or is there an adjustment that can be made? Thanks.

And pull the push button .
I found that you can end up fighting this , it can be a very close / slight adjustment .
Do not lift peddle with foot , that can unadjust the sw.

try spraying the switch with a good tuner cleaner i had to do this

a time or two but it fix it

i have a new switch in the glove box

for when it goes all together

the plunger gets stuck but it has been on the truck for 175k

and after a bath in tuner cleaner it's fine

OK, I figured it out after getting behind my service manual. Push the brake pedal down and turn the switch counterclockwise and switch will release from bracket. Unhook wire connector. There are come continuity test to do to check out switch. My switch checked out OK. You then pull the plunger out and will make some clicks. It should be out about 3/4". Then, hook the wiring connector, push brake pedal down, and reinstall on bracket by turning switch clockwise. Now, when you push brake pedal down, switch plunger will self adjust itself.
