You Know You're Getting Old When:

USMC b-day/ Veterans Day

I just blew a rear brake line in my winter car (1990 Buick LeSabre). I've never had this problem before and was wondering what my options are (besides paying someone to fix it). It's the line going to the right rear brake and it's leaking where is goes over the exhaust pipe. The line itself is in pretty bad shape and should be replaced. Are pre-bent lines available? I know you can buy straight lengths of line, but how do I bend it into shape and form the flare on the ends?

TIA, Dave

Brake line

The straight lengths of line come with fittings already on and flared. The line is easy to bend except for short radius bends you would need a lever type bender. I have used the line before and just bent it with my hands. You can get the the unions to put two shoirt pieces together also. The steel tubing requires a double flare and will split if you try to use a regular flaring tool. bg
