Welcome to the tdr. You can do it in about two hours. Napa sells brake line with the fittings already on it (3/16). You will need about 12 to 13 feet. I used a 4 and 5 foot piece and saved the 16 inch piece for the bends(reg cab). I blew out the new brake line with air for about one minute before installing, to make sure any dust or debris was out of them.
Make sure you master cylinder does not go dry, when you purge out the air(Bleed the lines). Pump the pedal with truck off six times stand on the pedal while someone in the rear opens the bleeder valve. do this on both rear brakes with truck off. Then run truck and repeat starting with passenger side rear(furthest point from Master cylinder). Pump up pedal three times and hold, have person in rear bleed while holding, do not let off pedal until bleed valve closed. Since this was the first bleed for new lines I would repeat the rear bleed sequence at least six times once solid brake fluid is comming out. Make sure you also bleed your front brakes.
Took me 3 or 4 hours on a Sat, and 3 or 4 on a Sunday, but I dropped the tank, as I had to fix the fuel sender, anyway. Took my time and I had to run around looking for parts. Not a difficult job, though.
I was entering my street when it happened. I was going real slow.
I Should be going to Fall Brawl, but it will be on Sunday morning only till about noon. My weekends are always full in the fall. I'm hoping Jetpilot can get enough people so we can get a drag strip on Fri night.
