So my truck is off the road... ... .



brief and sum...



i blew the line on the thing on the port aft side of my frame that looks like a brake adjuster??? rod going to axle, must ajust brake load???? the line on the forward end of the line is totally corroeted and blown out aft of where it makes the connedction to the fwd brake line. do i need a whole new thing??? dealer only???? is it all one piece??? replace line only???? if anyone know what i'm talking about , please send some info!!!!



i don't have internet at home, i am at work and this is not my computer (boat carpenter) i'll check back at the end of the day... . Thanks!!! i don't want to buy anything i don't need... . i'm close to walking... .
 
That is the "height sensing proportioning valve" and its purpose is to increase the amount of braking provided by the rear wheels as the load on the rear increases. You should be able to replace the lines independantly, but I'm not sure if your failure is the line, fitting, or the sensor body. I would guess the sensor would be a dealer only item, but I'd try NAPA or other parts stores first. I've never heard of this failure before.
