During the past 3 or so months my brakes feel as if they have been getting worse and worse. I have adjusted the rear brakes and that helped some, but you still have to apply alot of pressure to stop. I have also pulled my front tires off and the rotors had a bunch of small cracks (stress cracking?). The pads didn't look to bad. You could tell they were worn, but they still had a good amount of material on them. I also can feel a vibration in the front of the vehicle when stopping hard.

What do I need to do?

Is this something that can be fixed just by bleeding and changing brake fluid?

Do I need new rotors? If so what are some good companies to get them from?

Could it be caused by contaminated pads?

a hard pedal could be an indication that there is a problem with the hydroboost system. Or I have also seen different pads and "crytalized" rotor surfaces do this. If you rotors are heat stressed(craked) have them miked and if they can be cut have them cut or replace them. As far as pads go thats is gonna be like buying oil everyone has there opinion. I have done much experimenting with different pads and rots from all the high performance manufacturers and found that certain pads work better with different applications. As far as heavy duty goes I have used the EGR stuff and like it but it is pricy. there are others manufactures pads i wont use if you are giving them away.
