Looking for advice on what to buy for new front brake pads. The ones I have now are 8k old on new rotors and squeak and chirp like mad even after putting on crc pad anti squeak paste. Also they are dusting my wheels so bad i need to clean them every other day  . But the good news is they dont show much wear and may out last the truck :D I think they are napa pads. but not sure. Any one got decent pads they can recomend . Thanks

If you have some time. Do a search using TDR Member Sam Peterson as your search by user name.

Lot's of good reading and great advice.

sam peterson is the tdr brake guru.

You need to camfor the leading edge of your brake pad to stop the squeaking

Do a better replacement at EGR

They have pads called CARBON KEVLAR... . pricey but stop better... Also got the slotted rotors.

go to bluechipdiesel.com, they seem to have a pretty good deal on slotted rotors and special "police" pads... not sure as to the make-up of them, but they can't be too bad. .

I've got the EGR carbon kevlar pads on all four rotors and I am convinced they are worth the expensive if you're pulling heavy. I"ve had to bear down hard a couple of times pulling my 5er with the dually - when I first hit the brakes I had concerns but those carbon kevlar pads really work. I was very impressed. They're quiet and clean. Glenn at EGR claims they last 2 to 5 times longer than any other pads.

I'm running the Wagner Severe Duty pads. They last pretty well, OEM performance, and hardly any dusting. Also Lifetime Guarantee :D I'm on my 3rd set in @140K miles. Only paid for one.
