I ordered and received Sam Pederson's carbomet brake pads and was searching some old threads on the subject and noticed the use of a black lube/anti squeal compound for use between the pads and the calipers. What is the proper name or product name of the black lube. I have to get some. Thanks

Leon, snow yet? You can buy the anti-squeel at Napa, they call it Disk Brake Quiet, it's orange though. Under $5 for enough to do ten sets of pads.

Thanks Bill, fair amount of snow on the mountain tops and a few of the ski hills have some runs open. We woke up this morning to wet flurries that have now receded up to the top of the local hills. Just enough that I put my winter wheels on this morning just in case we have to go over a pass. How about where you are? Are you getting that system that just left a foot of snow in Calgary?

I put the plow on the tractor yesterday, we were supposed to get 4-6 inches in valley today, got a skiff that already melted, sunny now. Mountains have been covered for a couple of weeks. 47° now, but supposed to have highs in the teens for the first part of the week.

I just did my front brakes Fri. I put Valvoline black lube on the pins and nothing on the pads - they aren't supposed to need anything. I've NEVER had a squeel with these shimmed pads. They're quiet as can be. Craig
