Have been using Mopar Value Pads and I'm tires of the red brake dust.

What other brands are wearing well w/o excessive dust?

Not so far, I've seen posts from those who say they do squeal.

Very little is louder than the rattle of my 24v :-laf

"Value Line" is Mopar's cheap brake pads. I agree, they are junk. I've seen less dust in a west Texas dust storm. The money you save on them is spent in soap and water washing the dust off of your wheels and tires. I wouldn't ever buy them again!!!!!!

I tried the Hawk's on my 03, they were okay, but they did squeal. I didn't think they were any better than OEM. Switched to Performance Friction Carbon Metallic and was satisfied with the performance and wear. Got them from AutoZone.

Have 217k on the originals on my '03. Have a brand new set of "Premium" Mopar pads waiting to go on. Heard some not so good things about the VL pads , so I got the premiums instead.

I changed the OEM pads at 123k. Didn't need too. Switched them out before a long trip with the fiver.

I'd buy the OEM again but the price is ridiculus!

I'm running Wagner Thermo-Quiets on the front with about 44K on them. Good stopping power but a lot of dust. They do squeak a bit, but I think it's because the rotors are glazed a little. Still got the factory pads on the rear with 108K and still going strong!

The frontend was apart at 120K miles to upgrade to thr '08 steering linkage so I replaced the pads with OEM pads. Still had over 60% of the original pads left! I would have been estatic if I thought I could get 120K on a set of front pads but could have gotten 200K easilly! I love the OEM pads, worth every penny.

I may be a little stray, but, I haven't had a problem using the Napa pads ( I use the mid and high quality). I use them on all my vehicles without one problem.

I tried them once on this truck, they were just dustier and noisier than OE, worked fine though.

Does anyone know if there are significant changes in the brakes from 2003 to 2005?
I bought Mopar brand for the fronts again, but I'm sure the rears are getting close as well and was hoping to run the performance friction carbon metallic as I've had good experience with them on other vehicles.

From what comparing I've done it appears the pad fronts are the same, but the rears are different. I guess I'll just have to check and make a physical comparison between the two next time I'm in town.

I wouldn't assume the rears are wearing... I looked at mine at about 100K and they were still 75%+... I won't even look again until 200K. The front brakes wear like iron, the rear are like steel!
