I constantly look down and see my brake controller engaged. After I lift the pedal up with my foot it clears. What would cause the pedal to stay down just enough to apply the brake lights, and how can I fix this? Thanks.

Could be a bad switch. But, you can twist off (quarter turn) the white switch, then PUSH on the bracket about an eighth inch and screw the switch back on. Test it out before you drive off, and remember brakes are a safety item. The manual tells you to discard the brake switch every time you remove it.

If that dos not fix it, you need a new switch and there is a one time adjusting procedure that you must follow.

One of two things has happened: First, possible brake return spring broke or weak. If it is not against the return stop, that is what I would work on. Second, the switch is out of adjustment. Push the pedal down and push the brake switch in further, let the pedal go, it will push the switch back out, pull up on the pedal to make sure it has returned to the stop. The switches are plastic and could become loose in the mounting. Pretty cheap and easy to replace.

Hate to say this but mine did the same thing. I was out away somewhere and wanted to correct it immediately, so I put a temporary fix on it (small bungie cord on the pedal secured to something solid under the dash). It's worked so well I forgot all about it! I'll have to take it to the dealer and have them look at it. No more problems with brakes not releasing with the bungie though.

I just replaced my Brake Light Switch. Same thing, my controler and at the same time the brake lights are on also. I never felt it was enough to keep the truck brakes dragging but it was annoying when trying to park the trailer and the controler would be sending volts to the trailer brakes & the lights would stay on. Very cheap and easy fix. Takes about 2 mins to do and the switch is only about 10 dollars.

When you remove the old and install the new and before you flip the small switch on the unit itself, I slightly pressed the pedal down a touch more then its normal resting posistion. Therefore the brake lights and controller see no brake use that touch sooner.
