Just finished a complete brake job on my truck. Replaced everything but the rotors and drums. Bled the brakes according to my Haynes manual and had good pedal with engine not running. Started the truck and the pedal went almost to the floor, brake light and ABS light came on and rear brakes stopped working. Shut down truck and bled the brakes again, no air, good pedal. Started truck, pedal went almost to the floor and brake and ABS light came on, rear brakes stopped working. I took the truck off of the jacks had to get it out of the shop, started to drive it slowly around drive way. as soon as the truck rolled, stepped on brakes and had good pedal and they worked fine. Any ideas?
On a side note. The friend who helped me do the brakes showed me an easy way to get stubborn drums off. Use a 1 inch diameter or so solid punch and a hammer, whack the drum between the studs and work your way around in pattern like you would tighten lug nuts. About five good whacks drum popped right off. Jeff
