Tonight on my way home for work I had to stand on the brakes. I felt the ABS work but felt like the truck kept pushing from the rear. I really didn't think I got on them that hard but the truck sure did feel like it was pushing me on forward.

The truck does drink some brake fluid and just got a new set of front brakes. Truck seems to stop ok with my stock trailer, loaded or not. I don't know a whole lot about the brakes.

Have you.....

adjusted the rear brakes lately? Easiest way is to jack both sides up with the transmission in neutral (block the front tires so that you don't roll away). then adjust each side in turn until you feel the brake drag and then back it off "maybe" 6 clicks to get away from the rubbing.

The "drinking some brake fluid" does not sound good unless you are only talking about having to top the reservoir off due to pad wear. If you are noticing "that" scenario... . you are wearing your brakes out pretty fast.

Rodger what Steve said, the "drinking" problem would scare me. The reservoir should be able to maintain it level. Do you have a hard pedal? I think a good going over would help, pull the rear drums, look for wheel cylinder leaks and shoe wear. On the fronts look at the calipers, and what did you do on the recent brake work? Did you just put on new pads?

I haven't adjusted the rear brakes before. And I usually have to add fluid to the reservoir about once a month or after I pull my stock trailer.

The front just got a good check over since I had to replace both axle shafts, bearings, and seals.
