I've got 206K on factory brake pads and they still have half the pad left on them :-laf . My question is: when and if it ever becomes necessary to change them out, what is the best brand to go back with?

Wow 206k! I can't help you with your question, but I have question for you. Do you have an exhaust brake?

Why ask?. Go back with factory pads when the time arrives, someday.

Great point! If the factory pads lasted this long what's the point in using anything else!

I have no problems with the factory pads but I have become a firm believer in that if O. E. M. is good then aftermarket is better. Just didn't know if any aftermarket pads are out there for our 3rd gens.

Well I'm a firm beliver if OEM is good that aftermarket is usually poor compared to. . In the auto repair end cannot even begin to erxplaim how many sets of aftermarket squealing, brake dust, rotor eating pads/shoes we took off and threw in the trash and intalled factory linings. Have had days were the ROAD ATLANTA stock class racers have come in and bought EVERY factory Nissan 300 and 240 pads we had in stock. Asked one once WHY?He replied that every aftermarket he had every tried wore out in one race(same as factory)but did not damage the rotors(with aftermarket had to replace rotors EVERY race also)and stopped as good or better then the aftermarket. I have found this held true on Nissan,G. M. and Chrysler vehicles for the most part.
