 I have a 98 12 valve 2500 with upgraded 16x8 weld wheels. When I got my tires rotated today, they told me that I am getting heat cracks in my front rotors. Just bought a 30ft travel camper so will be towing that once a month. I need advice on a high performance brake rotor for front of truck.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Dunno' about high performance but,

I bought new rotors at NAPA for my 3500. Had a choice of domestic or foreign. No brainer there. Paid $81 per.

Got mine @ autozone for $42 each. they aren't heavy duty but I think they will work for you. Do you keep your foot on the brake while @ a stop while towing? That can warp your rotors pretty easily.

There is a "severe service" brake kit for our trucks, but I think it is over $1000... :--)

Thank You, But

Thank you for the replies, but I am looking for an aftermarket, high performance rotor. Checked at Dodge dealer, for factory replacements, they are $220 each. :--)

If anyone can suggest something, it would be greatly appreciated.

Which kit is this?

I need a serious brake overhaul on my truck. My rear drums have never worked since the truck was new.

I've had the dealer look at them, i've adjusted them... and no luck.

If I can get some serious breaking power in my front brakes, then I'd be happy!!!

Kevin,

If I remember the guys name properly, Glen Maurer at EGR, which is a TDR Banner Advertiser, is the Severe Service Brake guy. Someone has their complete kit listed in his signature, and did the work himself if I remember correctly. I think the cost for shipping and all for the complete kit was like $1600... ...

Tom

Update: Ok, happened to see the EGR banner ad here tonight, and followed it.
