I need some advice. I've got 161,000 miles on my 2500 2wd. I've had the rotors cut twice. It's time for another brake job and I want to put new rotors on. The best price I have been able to get is $103. 00 each and that (believe it or not) is from my local Dodge dealer. It seems like a lot of bucks. Am I wrong or just cheap? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Charlie, It's been a couple of years but I replaced my rotors with Bendix rotors from carparts.com, they were $62 each, shipping was free with no tax and I received them in two days. To tell you the truth I'm not even sure carparts is still in business.

The 2WD rotors have the studs in them usually... and have a lot more materials involved as well as machining expenses. The 2WD rotors also house the spindle bearings, whereas the 4x4's do not... . so precision machining an already bigger/heavier piece is more expensive than the smaller unit... . and we the end user has to pay for that. D'oh!

For parts like this... the aftermarket will save you boatloads over OEM.
