I run back and forth on the same road everyday here in Michigan(US 24,Telegraph Rd) going to work and back. I started noticing an off and on squeak that sounds like its coming from the front brakes.

The reason I'm thinking the front brakes is because as soon as I star to touch the brake petal it stops.

I did some testing to pin point the noise. While cruising at 45mpg with cruise on, I applied the park brake a little,squeak did not stop. I then put it in neutral to see if it had some thing to do with the clutch,squeak did not stop.

A week ago I took the front brake calipers off and cleaned the pads, slides, and wiped off the rotors with brake clean.

It was going good till today... the squeak is back not as bad as before BUT it's back!:{

What else do you all think it could be? Any help would be great. Thanks

By the way I have 33,000 miles on the truck.

Lube your caliper pins with night temp grease. Sounds like the pads are not backing off. Also, use CRC brake quiet on the back of the pads. It's a spray, easy to apple and usually helps quietness down the brakes. Lube the pins first so the pads can move freely.
