A few years back, I got T-boned (torpedoed) by a Nissan Maxima. She did a little body damage, but ruined my Dana 80 axle. The dealer ordered a new Dana housing, and new driveshafts and carrier bearing.

So, this morning I am, for all the good it does, spraying the shock mounting bolts, to get them ready to have someone else remove the &#@$ things. Then I notice this on the passenger side of my rear axle:

Yup... two of the four bolts!

It has been a few years, but this doesn't seem like it should happen, and it also seems like the dealer should fix it, no? The body work they did, looked good, but all the parts are rusting out now. I guess we will see about there "as long as you own it" warranty, and if it is BS or not.

Frustrating.

With my old eyes it does not look loose but it was not installed correctly. The flat spot is to lock it from turning. It appears to be hanging up because of that not being oriented correctly

That is how it looked to me too Bob. Not impressed. They have to re-do some body work as well. Everything they did... rusted!
