I found an error code with my check engine light that said the brake switch was bad. When I replaced the switch, the brake indicator on the dash stayed on constant. Have worked with the connections to make sure that they are good. Now solid brake indicator and check engine light back on. Could I have a new bad switch?

I thought you had to adjust the brake switch. Should of had instructions how to adjust it. If not I have the instructions in my 96 service manual.

replaced again

I did adjust the switch upon installation according to the instructions. Have replaced this one and am still troubleshooting the check engine light. The brake indicator on the dash has now gone away. It appears that the first switch that I purchased was bad and causing that.

BudPhoto, I have write up for 2nd generation apps reset depending what code is coming up( I had the link to it but doesn't work any more) E-Mail me if you want it. If you need a new one a member supplies them. This where most members are getting their's from.

Replacement TPS/ APPS

If you do a search for "2nd generation apps reset" you will come up with quite a few threads with the instructions.
