I need new front pads. i figured now is the time to upgrade to new rotors and better pads. first, i have found a place a can get 2 "new" cross drilled rotors and Kevlar/carbon fiber mesh pads for $256 shipped or another $15each to get the rotors cadmium plated either black, silver or "gold" :D (hoopty mobile image coming to mind :D )

from what i have seen this is a pretty good price. here's the questions.

i dont tow much and dont stop hard (unless an idiot prevokes it) is $256 worth it for me? or should i just throw on some carbon metalic pads and let it rip another 50K?

is cadmium plating just to keep rust down and look pretty or does it serve a higher purpose?

should i go with better calipers too or just the pads and rotors?

P. S. hurry up and convince me, i have to drive this guttless girly-mobile suburban until i get my truck fixed :D

I don't know if that'a a good deal but going with the cross drilled rotors surely can't hurt. I wish Brembo made a front and rear setup for our trucks. They are the best in my opinion. Where did you find these rotors? I'm going to change the rotors next year and need ideas myself.

Todd---If money is no object-go for it. But if you haven't towed much in the past or plan to in the future you may never know if it was worth it or not. Carbo mets & stock rotors do a great job. ---Sam

they're at www.pureperf.com i went ahead and ordered the cross drilled rotors. Heck that is barely more than stock ones cost :D

i didnt buy the pads from them. i got some carbo mets (thanks TDR and Sam P) from a local shop for $20 bucks less.
