Question, my 2004. 5 was ordered with the trailer package. I wired up the controller this evening and nothing, no power coming out of the hot feed from the factory harness (Dodge gives you a pig tail with 4 wires and a plug to hook into a harness behind the parking brake)

Is there a fuse to install or something to activate this???

Thanks.

I don't recall which fuse # it was, but on my 03, and a buddy's 04, the fuse that powers the trailer feed was blown. It is one of those taller square ones. I think it was a 40 amp... . They are identified on the inside of the cover of the fuse compartment. Hopefully yours is that simple

Fuse??????????????

I would source a auto RE-SETABLE breaker, get a way from the fuse. You don't want a blowen fuse in the braking system.

I have one in each of the braking and charging systems. of the trailer.

Yeah, there's a fuse under the hood and it's quite easy to pop when wiring the controller since the hot lead is hot all the time, even when the truck is shut off.

yep, I found the problem, it wasn't the 30 amp that blew, its the 15 amp fuse (I think either 28 or 29) that powers the brake trigger wire that was blown.

Thanks.

Break wireing harness that runs down the frame to the break lights
