2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission brakes and trans

I have a 981/2 24V 2500 4x4 with auto trans. I have a little over 60,000 on truck. The truck is stock. I pull a 28 foot travel trailer. It has been suggested that I install the EGR brakes, the whole package and a triple lock torqe converter. Are the upgrades worrth it? Do they work? Any suggestions?

EGR has some good stuff. Are you refering to their disc upgrades? Or just the kevlar pads and shoes. I wasn't too impressed with the kevlar stopping power and definitely not with it's longevity in my heavy truck.



As far as the transmission. Remember that no matter whose trans upgrades you go with when you use an exhaust brake you will be shortening the life of the transmission. Call them and ask them. The one's that tell you it wont hurt are the ones to stay away from.
