I am looking for opinions on what my 2002 is doing. Twice since Saturday, when stopping, at first the brake pedal will feel normal and everything works fine, then suddenly the pedal will fall out from under my foot and I will have greatly reduced braking power. If I let off the pedal and depress it again, it feels normal again. Is my master cylinder going out? I do not see any brake fluid leaking by any of the wheels, and my brake fluid reservoir is about 3/4 full, so 1/4 down from the full line. Just had the front wheels off this weekend and I have 3/4 pad left on all, and no braking vibrations or other issues.

Help!

Sounds like a failing MC... unless there is something screwy with the hydroboost??

If you have no leaks, most likely the MC is failing internally.

Ditto, that will probably fix it. Bleed the new MC before installing it. Change all the brake fluid in the system too.
