Brakes sqeak an unusual amount when lightly pressing the pedal at slow speeds. Pads and rotors are not glazed. What can i do to quiet it down some?

Thanks!

JA,

That is unusual. I 4 wheel and I've never had my brakes squeal. On the other hand, my friends Tahoe starts squealing as soon as it hits a dirt road. I'd definitely get it checked out as it is not normal. I've rinsed my rotors off, but first thing in the morning after the truck sat all night. I didn't want to take the chance of cold water on a hot or warm rotor.

BRAKE SQUEEK

Try removing the pads and coating the backing plates with

a good heavy lubricant such as Molykote or equivalent. They also make a liquid called Stop Squeal that you can soak into the pads

and it will help as well. You could also just do as I do and just

step on the pedal a little harder:)

I might try the stop squeal stuff. I have to go real slow in my neighborhood and if i never hit the brakes I can idle at 15 mph. I tried pressure washing an blowing out with air . No Luck!!!

Info that I found on this forum, the cure that I have used is to put Duct tape to the back of the pads. This will completely cure your problem.
