While towing our fifth wheel down the highway the brakes came on by themselves, the ABS and brake warning light where lit. I then pulled over and shut the truck off, and started it back up, this cleared the problem until I stepped on the brake pedal and the problem was back. I drove the vehicle off of the highway, and now I sit. I had tried removing the anti lock fuse, but that didn't help.

To be clear, the trailer brakes are on? Have you checked the emergency brake switch on the trailer? What happens if the brakes are locked on the trailer and you disconnect the trailer plug from the truck? If this clears the trailer brakes I'm thinking electric brake controller in the truck. Do you have a multimeter? How much voltage is the brake controller sending? Does it stay latched? What kind of brake controller are you running? What kind of brakes are on the trailer?

If it is only the warning lights, and nothing else, just drive it. The lights are annoying, but the only thing that is different is the anti-lock feature is disabled.

Mine was the ABS sensor in the rearend. Simple fix if that's the problem.

You didn't say if it is still on after you disconnect the 5er. I'm guessing it is. If the brakes work , it sounds like they are, you just don't have the anti-lock feature. Good luck.

The truck brakes are on, the 5er brakes are fine. The truck is an 2004 quad cab,4x4,ctd,auto. Thank you for your help

Sounds like an ABS problem. Have you pulled the ABS fuse? On the 2nd gen the sensor at the rear axle would be my first guess. Not sure about the 3rd Gen sensor location. Any codes?
