Yesterday, one of the few days my radio was turn down,I was hearing a slight squeal coming from the one of my brake assy. It also seems to drag that wheel at times also,as it sometimes has a mind of it's own and decides not to release the rotor, causing it to glaze's the pad/glaze the rotor. So do I buy a new/rebuilt caliber from one of the Dodge parts house's or buy the rebuild kit, which include's a new piston. Pads after 50,000 miles have 2/3 pad material left. Thought's ?

You didn't say if it was front or rear, but the first thing I would do is pull the wheel off and look at the pads and rotors. See if you can find something obvious before you start buying parts. You may just need to clean the pads and rotor or bleed the system.

I agree with Grizzly... Also if you suspect that the caliper is draging, compare how the pistons retract by checking the other pistons on the other wheel on the same axel. I like you have a stick shift truck with a Pacbrake. I know I will get alot more life out of my brakes. But another issue can arrise in that the pistons can get sticky by not moving as the pads don't wear near as fast. I have removed wheels before and excercised the calipers by retracting the pistons then pushing them back out with the brake pedal. The second gen rear calipers got stuck alot just because of brake bias toward the fronts.

Just a thought I had my right front caliper go bad around 40,000 miles kept feeling a drag and a squeal. Had the brakes checked at dodge said everything is fine. Didnt belive them pulled the assembly found the inner pad almost completly worn out the outer pad was fine. So that was all they looked at. I replaced it with a new caliper and replaced the left side pads as well. Used all Mopar parts thought about the perfomance stuff but decided to keep it easy.

Update on this L/H frt brake squeak. Took it back in this morning and they think the caliper is not retracting, both pads have plenty of material left after 60,000 miles. Left front has alittle less than the right front. They what to replace that frt L/H caliper/both front pads with premium pads. Don't ask the price. Has any one seen this problem on 2007 Dodge Rams?Thoughts

No-both sides will be replaced. The tech thinks the caliper is hanging up and not releasing on the L/H frt.

Now that I reread your post, you did make that pretty clear.

I've been happy with the stock pads, are the premium pads the same thing our trucks came with?
