since it has gotten warmer outside my truck has devloped a stiff then soft pedal, ill explain, driving and hit the brakes coming to a slow stop, about half way down the pedal stroke it gets stiff, then u push a little harder and it pushes by this point and brakes harder, almost like someting is binding. there are times it doesnt do it at all, but if im in stop and go traffic, it seems to happen all the time. if anyone has any ideas on where i could look or how to diag or has happened to them and has a solution, please help. really dont wanna take to the ******* ship. i did lube the front caliper slides and the contact area on the rear shoes to the backing plates and didnt help.

Off hand I would say your having booster problems but I have heard old weak lines(rubber) will give you that symptom also.

I'll try to research in s/m(service manual) and see what their trouble guides says.

The '99s have Hydraboost (powered from power steering), not vacuum. Could be the booster or the accumulator. Probably wouldn't hurt to replace the power steering fluid and brake fluid.
