gooseneck + slide in dump bed...is it possible?

Michelin XPS vs. Goodyear Wrangler s

Well Boys, I bought another truck (1998 GMC, 2500, auto, 255 HP 350). I'm going to install a brake controller and a gooseneck hitch. I'm thinking of the Prodigy brake controller but have no idea on what hitch to buy. I want one that installs easy and has the flip over ball so the bed is flat. I'm also looking for a cheaper version than $500. Any and all suggestions will help me out.

Thanks!

John

The B+W Turn-over Ball hitch, works for me, it is rated to 30k. You should look into the Jordan Ultima 2020 Brake controller. I have had better results from this than any other type (and I have used them all). If you are doing the installs yourself, you should be able to get both items delivered for less than 500.

I saw in a catalog that I have that the B&W hitch wasn't offered for any GMC before 1999. The price was $560. Is this incorrect information? I'll check into the Jordan Ultima 2020 brake controller.

Keep the info rolling.

Hi guys:

I ended up going with a "Pop Up" brand hitch and a Hoppy "Impulse" brake controller. Total bill came to ~$370, which I didn't think was too bad.

My question is with the brake controller. It shows four wire hook up. White: Ground, Blue: Electric brakes, Black: + side of battery, and last Red: Cold side of stop lamp switch. What color wire and where is the cold side of the stop lamp switch? It shows GM models up to 1996 and that is all. My truck is a 1998. I just thought I'd ask, if I call Hoppy, then I'll have to wait until Monday.

Thanks guys,

John

I'm chenging from a Hide-A-Hitch rail system to a Pop-Up.

I also use a Jordan controller and love it.

Good Luck
