Competition 2 thumbs up for may madness

Competition muncie pulls

Brandon wins again at the Hughson pulls--next closest guy was a ford guy(Jeff) that always seems to do well, but B got him by 20'---don't know the distances---James Silva got third---way to go B----chris

dang it chris, you beat me to it. The new set up seems to be working sweet for brandon, That stinkin ford blows my mind, it pulls really well for how mildly bombed it"seems" to be, im sure he's got a few tricks we dont know about. I do know his transmission hates his guts right now, you could smell it at the end of the track. Silva was 30 feet behind brandon tonight.

Brandon, i think its time to get stupid;)

Brandon reminds me of Jaromir Jagr-his first two pro seasons with the Pens, they won the cup.

Could Brandon become the first California Rookie undeafeated puller for the whole season?:D

I have posted this before, but it may help some of the newbies understand what 20 feet means.

.

In pulling, 2 feet is a good, solid win, some of the pros will have an entire class within 1 foot. 5 feet is quite a bit. 10-20 feet, you need some serious work. 20-50 feet, are you in the right class??

Anything above 50 feet, you must have broke. That is like trying to gain 5 seconds in the quarter mile, after you broke the 10 second barrier.

Just as a note of interest, the first puller in the class was a Duramax. These clowns next to us who knew Brandon was my buddy started mouthing off about how these things are the most powerfull diesels on the road. I said too bad we aren't on the road. They didn't get it. whatever:rolleyes: I kept my mouth shut for the time. The D-max pulled 131 feet i believe :p, Then the fird guy pulled 218, and these clowns start in about there Haynt new way that theere dodge can beat that Nooope, newbody gonna do ferther then dat... Brandon pulled Last at 235. I looked at the one guy and said " Too bad sombody forgot to tell the dodge it's underpowered. " LOL:D

Hey sledpuller, you should have seen the tech guys at the track (gasser guys of course) they took a look at the wastegate and wanted to know where the propane tank was. LOL

Only seen a couple d maxes. Honestly, they just dont stand a chance now, they can get the van aaken box, and the edge juice is supposed to be out soon, but now, they are way down on HP. I still think 100 feet behind is pitifull though even without a box. we had a near stock dodge that did way better than that. (180 hp auto, with 215 injectors, plate slide and a DTT transmission) transmission ought to be a push since the dmax has the best transmission out:rolleyes:, and i doubt that the dodge had much more HP if any than the dmax advertises anyway. I dont know how chevy gets their torque figures, but the dmax dont have it. as soon as the weight box started to get up the sled, the thing just fell on its face. The only thing that stops the cummins is traction, the dmax bogged down.

Sounds about right, you seen their TV commercial right?,... ..... "THE MOST POWERFUL DEISEL YOU CAN GET" Then they have it towin' a 5er full of cullverts(sp?) a few thousands lbs. "LIKE A ROCK", huh, I say "LIKE A JOKE":p

Later ,Rob

Or bad clutches! I must admit I was spanked by two different Dmaxes, in my $1000 inferior clutch days.

The Fords die also, even with propane, the Cummins will smoke the tires right off the rims.

The Chevy boys will start getting their feet wet, then, sick of being held under by the Dodges, will go away dragging their tails!

phil

phil i did have the number 4 tst plate in while pulling both nights, truck did flawless pulled excellant the one problem i noticed is bfg muds suck when pulling as phil said no traction damn i need boggers, i definatly thought the d max was gonna do bettert han he did, oh well shouldnt brag unless you can back it up had fun, see ya later JeredOo.

Jared,Chris is da man listen to him. He runs bfg muds and kicks everyones butt most of the time. Obviously on some tracks some tires are going to work better than others, but what you need is wheel speed. Get the 370's in and then hopefully you will be able to let it shift throught the gears to 3rd gear. That is what james is doing, and he usually pulls really well, I think everyone is going to have fun trying to catch Brandon from now on though.

??

So u think with 370s, my #4, and possibly a 4k governer i will be ok?? or would tires be an important issue??? just curious, as what your sayign does make since, it always feels like right after i stage the turbo that it just sits there and spins. then gets traction after maybe 10-15 feet. I plan on the 370s in a week, and possibly a 4k governer, so wew ill have to see in sonora,.....

You have to feel at least a little sorry for the guys. They spend all those bucks on some shining pile of salesmans hype and all they get is another truck like their tired old dog they traded in. Yes to videos. We NEED videos.

You want to spin some, but you may be coming out of the hole too hard and overspinning.

Sometimes backing off a touch after your're moving will give them a chance to bite.

You get enough tire that it won't spin at all, and you will find your weak links very quickly.

Jared, im no expert (obviously, im still sitting on the sidelines trying to decide what to do), but i would say add the injectors and go from there. There are so many things in pulling that make one truck do better than others, so there is going to be a huge learning curve. If it were simply a matter of adding a lot of power and going out and winning, every moron out there would be kicking butt. Power is obviously an extremely important part of the set up, but is just that, a part of it. Suspension, tires tire pressure, weight distribution, are all big factors. After watching your truck, i would say without a doubt, you need more power, the thing never really acted like it got the sled going well like the other higher hp dodges.

Obviously, you have plenty of power to whip up on the chevy boys though:D :D

If you are spinning without a lot of Hp it will shock you to death how much horsepower it will take when the rubber takes a bite. Worst thing about letting up on it to let the tires get a grip is that it takes some major torque to get the rpms back up. that's when the stuff breaks. if you can just let up real slightly and grab dirt then hammer it helps, but too much you lose rpms. any thing I ever pull with hp never had enough clutch to take it. In the 70's I used to pull my old every day driver 1967 International 3/4 ton 4x4 with stock 266 cubic inch v-8 motor. that thing had locking axels , no hp, but 411 gears and lots of traction. It would torque up till I was pulling with the left front tire a foot of the ground. Those sleds can really put the stress on things. Fun but you wonder how they ever hold together.

ok

i get what you guys are sayin now, so i will be gettin the 370s and maybe go from there, phil 215s are yours if ya want um, just let me know thnx guys Jered
