Basic question on boost foolers

:D I am a new kid on the block here. Just bought an 04 QC HO auto SWB SLT 4x4.

First off my rear end went out at 778 miles. Dealer is replacing all of it.

What should I do to break it in. I have been told to put about 800-1000 lbs in the bed and haul it around for about 3k miles. I do not have anything to tow now but will have in about 2 years when I retire again. As you can tell I bought this truck for the future not the current situation.

With my last truck I did oil changes at 3000 should I stay faithful to that of move to 7500? What about oil. Is AMSOIL good or bad?

What about a replacement airfilter?

I am getting 16. 5 around town and enjoying the truck. What a kick in the pants. Oo. Oo. Oo.

The questions you have asked are easy to answer the problem is they are answers that everyone is going to have a different one of... . LOL. . But for the sake of info. I try hard to keep to the 3-5k miles range hard to always find time but somewhere in that range she gets done as far as maintance. Now as far as AMSOIL, that is opening a can of worms on this website that can be a VERY dangerous. It is merely a matter of personal opinion, if it is something you want to try then I say try it, but if you are not sure whether or not you want to then I would say dont. As confusing as that may be, if you ask someone that is running it whether or not they like it they will more than likely tell you they do, however if you ask someone that doesnt use it, they too will more than likely tell you not to use it... So its a matter of personal preference.

ANYWHO

welcome to TDR and have fun with your new toy

Thanks for the information

Thank you for the information. I am gaoing to go out and purchase 1200#s of sand to haul araound. (My wife better not tell me that see misses the beach ;-) )

I call cummins diesel at 1-800-diesel and they told me to drive it like I normally will and not to baby it. The only restriction is not to tow about 55 for the 1st 500 miles. Reaaly nice folks. Funny thing is..... they told me not to add pyro/boost/transmission gauges unless I am changing thier configuration, they stated that they would have added them if I needed them...

Hey the way I see it we all have opinions. I will weigh each and see which comes out on top... ... ;-) That is why I am a subscriber to the TDR... ... .

Thanks again.

Dan

(Glad I sold the gasser... ... )
