Little barn syndrome!!!! That's funny. Mine is a 26' x 26' that I use just for the race car and metal fab work. Lots of room for that purpose I put an electrical outlet every 5 feet around the shop walls. No water or floor drain. The drain would require a foundation here and that drove up the concrete costs. I absolutely love this building!!!

Hey Dave, tell us more about your barn.

We have a quarter acre lot in a bedroom community outside Bismarck, ND. The 26x26 is the biggest I could put on the property along with our house. I call it my shop but it is basically an oversized two car garage. The other limitation was the shop wall heights could not exceed the height of the house and since the house is a ranch, I was limited to 10 foot walls. We had the house built as close to the boundary as we could (7 feet) so that on the other side I had enough room for an additional driveway to get my two trailers in the back yard, the TT next to the shop and the car hauler in front of the shop. It is crowded but with the help of a 10K powered dolly I can move the car hauler and park it so I can get the TT out without shuffling the car hauler. The shop itself has one 10ft wide by 8 foot tall garage door and one 36" man door. The garage door is installed to one side of the shop and the man door is right next to it. It is wired for 220 for my welder and heater and I did wire in a wall A/C unit but ran out funds to add that. I installed two banks of four 8ft flourescent lights basically dividing the shop in half as far as lighting goes and a ceiling fan.. I also installed ceiling outlets for any future upgrades. The wall outlets located every 5 feet along the three walls not having a door in them so no shortage there. We insulated the heck out of this building as the winters here get pretty cold. We had low 80's ambient temperatures this past weekend and the temperature inside the shop only rose to 66 degrees. I should take some pictures and figure out how to post them. It is small and spartan especially after seeing the OP's shop!!!

It just occurred to me my post about "little barn syndrome" (#83) may have been viewed as offensive. It was most definately not meant to be! It was a shot at me! I call mine a "shop" when in reality it is a detached garage. That is why I thought it was funny. Sorry Wayne if that came across differently!

Dave, no big thing. I found nothing offensive!
Thanks for sharing info on the barn- it's ok to call it that if you want.
Posting pictures is easy with a smartphone. Just click on the camera above, and follow the prompts. I can only dream of a project like the OP here pulled off!

No kidding Wayne! That is a beautiful set-up! Part of my problem was we were coming into the winter months here in No Dak-Land and I needed to get my things inside before it got cold. So I kinda screwed the pooch but I love being in there! Getting into the final stretch of putting my stroker together for the Scamp! I' try to post pics of that when it is done. Especially if she pulls the front tires!

Actually, the biggest reason for calling it the shop is so the CINC-Home (Commander in Chief-Home) knows where I am. We have a garage and the shop so I call them these names so she knows where to find me. I fell about 6 feet off of a ladder recently and caught holy hell because she did not know. It's not a control thing, she takes good care of me and was mad she was not there to help me. That could have very well been a fatal fall so I get her point.
