I thought I would share some photos of last Falls Mule Deer scouting trip in Central Nevada. Decided to check out a road in a remote canyon I had not been up in at least 20 years. Ran into a little obstacle.

Get a tree saver strap. It will be easier on the cable compared to wrapping cable around the tree.

I have always been a little worried about using a nylon tree saver given the weight of these trucks. It would have certainly worked on this pull. Have you used one successfully on one of our trucks?

This tree was in a tough location. When I first tried to move it I was only pulling it toward me. Not good!

Found this pipe from an abandoned mine off to the side of the road. How convenient!

Saw about 10 4x4 + bucks. Took video of one nice buck on opening morning that was a 5x5 27-28" wide with a kicker on the right an a 12" inline on the left. His back forks were crab claws so I passed. My brother and a couple of friends told me I was crazy. I had a friend coming in the following week for a week of hunting. Had a great time.
