Looking for Cummins ISX15 data link?

My nephew who is 18 and thinks he knows a lot about diesels, never has owned one or driven one, tells me Cummins is switching to a straight 6 from the current v8 in our trucks!



I said go open the hood on mine it is already a six!

He said NO WAY!!

Should've told him that you were a Product Tester for Cummins, and that if he swore not to tell anyone, you would show him the Secret Prototype inline six... ... . THEN open the hood! :D
 
It's all funny that the term V8 and also turbo and fuel injection are all selling points.

I agree with turbo but the others are just bogus!

Thats why I posted it!!

He is always coming up with things like the E-3 ( or what ever they are) spark plugs doubled the mileage in his explorer it is up to 25mpg now!



I really need to take him for a ride in my truck and let him feel torque from a lowly 6!

He is so typical of the believers in all the advertizing that is out in the world.
 
As a side note that meens nothing really is a friend of mine put the E-3 plugs in his motorcycle and he swears that it starts much faster with the different plugs. He didn't say anything about mileage going up. I may have to try those in my Cummins. Think they will help?
 
Ignorant youth, you have to love them... NOT! When I test drove the new 2011 2500 2w/d 800 H/O auto the other day, the salesman said that Ford owns 10% of Cummins and they let Dodge sell the Cummins in their trucks. I didn't correct him but probably should have. I wasn't going to buy and if it wasn't for the Cummins, Dodge can go to H*)) along with ChevY/GMC corporations with our tax dollars. Know what I mean?

Question is, is a set, a group of 6 or 8???



He, my nephew, also did ask how often I have to check or replace the glow plugs!

I just told him, I NEVER HAVE!



I think when I change or check those glow plugs, it might be best to just go ahead with installing the E-3 plugs!

That is a good idea replacing the glow plugs with the E-3 plugs! I didn't think about that one! Good job:-laf
 
Oh my!! this thread is the best laugh I have had in a while. .

My Nephew is much wiser. . at 17 now he just told me he is looking at a '98 3/4 ton Cummins with 116K on it. . 6 speed manual. . WOW!. . told him atta boy. . ! now cant wait to see it. . and tell him the ways of Genos and Edge and... and... and... lol

What your truck is a straight 6 ! NOT a V8
 
It was a special order truck!!

Even my salesman told me to enjoy the power of this V-10 diesel, when I picked it up!!!
