As before in my Previous post titled (Cooper Tires,Who Likes Them?). I am also Thinking of Bridgestone M/T's in 285/75/16.
Anyone out there have them?, If so,How do you like or dislike them?

Thanks.
Doug.

I am working on my second set of Bridgestone 285/75/16's. The first set were on my 1500 for 10. 5K and then on my 2500 for 35K. They still had about 3/8" of tread left.

I then put 255/85/16 Dunlop Mud Rovers on the truck thinking that the taller, narrower tire would wear better. My next two tanks of fuel dropped to 16. 0 mpg down from the previous four tanks at 18. 0+ mpg. I was spooked so I traded the tires for 235/85/16 Mud Rovers. Over half the tread was gone in 9K (4 months) so I took them back to Discount. The manager gave me a credit on the Dunlops and put my second set of Bridgestones on.

I like them a lot... they are quiet, wear well and are great in the mud.

<font color=red>I had a set on my old Chevy gasser, I bought them used since it is an old beater truck. I paid $10 for them. There was about 1/4 inch of tread on them. I drove on that set of tires for 2 more years and they still had a little tread on them when I got another set of tires for the truck. I would definately recommend them.

I've been running Bridgestons on my 86 Ford Bronco 4x4 for years now(180,000+ miles). They give good service. I make sure before they are installed that they say "Made in Japan" before I let the tire guy put them on. If they said "Made in USA", that meant they could have been made in a Firestone plant. I don't want any part of a Firestone tire and I have thought that way since an incident I had back in 1984 on a Ford F250.

Hi Doc, Bridgestone is a Japanese Tire Co, They own Firestone, All of the Firestone tires that I know of are Made in the Americas at Firestone Plants.

Bridgestone on the Other hand is Made In Japan (at least the A/T's on my jeep). So I dont think there is a Problem with Bridgestones sliding the tread off.

243; Your right about the Mileage of the Bridgestone M/T's. A friend of mine has them on his 12v Ram and has put alot of miles on them (around 15k) and they show very little wear. My BFG 295/75/16 A/T's are at 20k now and are just about done. Not very happy with the BFG A/T's
Doug.

Doug,
Read your comment about BF Goodrich A/T 295/75/16. I have the same exact tire on my '01 4X4. These tires have 9300 miles on this truck and 18,000 miles on my other truck. Which was the same as I have now except for the motor. Total miles 27,300. You probably are going to call me a liar but "Oh well". With that kind of miles on my tires now they should be good for 70,000. They look new right now. Don't know what the key to good mileage on tires are, but I'm very happy with the BFG's that I have. I will buy this tire forever.

The fact that you can get those kind of Miles outa BFG's doesnt make you a liar. I know of Lots of people that have put around 50k on them.
I think that I can only get around 25k out of them is Because I go offroad alot, And think that Dirt roads put more wear on the tires than asphalt does. "Unless Your Piers".

But I have done a Couple or "Piers type Burnouts" That amazed my Buddys at the local tire Shop. Smoked out the Whole Shopping center #ad
... . He He He.....

Had 6 Bridgestones on my old BB Chevy dooley, had two separate the tread at 22K miles. I canned the whole set and bought a set of Yokohamas at Costco. THESE tires wear like iron, and allowed me to drive in the snow, (with a 2wd truck), around here without chaining up. No hydroplaning either.
