ok, I just got my gauges installed about 2 weeks ago. With the truck warm and idleing at a red light I show 400-450 and driving around on the interstate unloaded is averaging 750. I know these temperatures arn't dangerous, but I didn't know if switching to a different air cleaner, exaust, etc. would help. I also have to wait 10-15 sec. before shut down to get egts to 300.

It just seems like it should get colder faster.

I've got an AFE intake and a 4 in exhaust. . . mine takes longer than what you're waiting to cool to even 350. At 70 mph I'm running 800*F or better, locked in OD and Cruise set. Jumps to 1,200 up hills. Keep the filter clean, aftermarket or anything else. Last trip cross the western states my whistle went away, boost almost nil, and EGT's outta sight. When I looked in there I found a couple of ATS header bolts backed out and landed in the webbing, AFE Filter plugged clear up, about to be sucked into the intakes, and the dam turbo only hanging on by one bolt. Lost the other two somewhere tween here and there. I'm convinced using the exhaust brake unscrews those header bolts.

Cheers,

Steve J
