Attention: TDR Forum Junkies I suspect that the Brite Box may not be a good idea. If it enables both dip and main filaments to be energized simultaneously, would it not overheat the glass capsule? Similarly would it not overheat the reflector/lens assembly?
What is the benefit of PIAA bulbs? Do they dissipate more power than stock (see above) or do they have an exotic gas in the capsule?
Or, do they have a special coating on them? Coatings act like filters and filters always hurt light output even if the light looks bluer (higher color temperature) as a result.
There is no free lunch.
